Alistair Overeem shows off huge body transformation
At one point during his earlier career, Alistair Overeem was a light heavyweight. In fact, this was the case for several years after becoming an MMA fighter and earlier on as a dutch kickboxer. Although this may sound heavy, you have to remember he is also 6’5 which means he was always going to weigh over a certain amount. Then, he discovered ‘horse meat’ and bulked up to a heavyweight. These days, lots of people laugh about horse meat being an excuse for PED’s but this was legitimately Overeem’s explanation at the time.
He also claimed that this was in combination with lifting heavy. Nonetheless, a lot of people were skeptical about his huge weight gain which suddenly seemed to happen. Remember, when training MMA it’s difficult to put weight on anyway due to the calories burned when sparring. As a result, lots of people have claimed that Overeem juiced to become Ubereem as he’s also known.
As seen in the picture below, you can clearly see that Overeem put on a significant amount of muscle mass. Even into his 40s he still maintained an incredibly buff physique. A lot of the time, a fighter may put on size but lose muscle definition as a result. However, with Overeem he packed on muscle whilst still keeping his chiseled six pack.
In summary, there has always been a lot of cynicism surrounding the body transformation of Alistair Overeem. Regardless of your stance on how this happened, it’s still fair to say that it’s been impressive due to his ability to stay in shape all year round.
