Looking back at Kim Kardashians bizarre boxing match
Back in 2009, times were simpler and the world was definitely less obsessed with social media. As a result of this culture shift, it’s not too surprising that Kim Kardashian’s celebrity boxing match went under the radar.
Yes, you read that right. In an event called the Kardashian Charity Knockout, Kim and her family raised over $11,000 for the Dream Foundation, which raises money for terminally ill children. The card saw her father in law (at the time) Bruce Jenner defeat his opponent which wasn’t surprising considering his athletic background and this bout resulted in a second round KO.
After this, her younger brother Robert Kardashian fought and actually lost. After the fight, he went to hospital and was even treated with a concussion. Unsurprisingly, Kim was meant to be shaken after seeing this happen to her sibling.
However, the main event saw Kim lose. She fought a woman called Carol Ann who was battling breast cancer at the time and was clearly the lesser skilled of the two. Overall, she showed some heart though and it was for a good cause.
Looking back on the fight, she said “It was absolutely insane. At the end of the day, we did this for charity and that’s what counts,” For those wondering, it looks as though Kim had very little boxing training before the fight, so it would be unfair to call her a trained boxer. Bizarrely, this isn’t the first time a Kardashian has ventured into the world of martial arts either.
