Taekwondo is a Korean martial art that has sometimes been compared to Karate. This is perhaps due to its emphasis on kicks as well as punches and blocks, whilst taking place in a similar-looking uniform. For those wondering, a Taekwondo outfit is also known as a Dobok, which is its name in Korean.

The Dobok is a traditional kimono that is worn whilst training Taekwondo and although it does have a lot in common with a Karate uniform, there are a few differences. Typically, the Dobok is also quite lightweight compared to a Judo gi, but it usually has a large, black collar which makes it recognizable. Of course, the Dobok doesn’t always have this marking, but it is quite common. Usually, the Dobok also comes in white, but these days you can also get different colors if you want.

This comes in white with a large, black collar as well as the Adidas logo subtly placed in a couple of locations on the top and pants.

What’s also nice is that this is WTF approved which is great news if you plan on competing. Mooto Korea Dobok

Another brand that makes a lot of Dobok’s is Mooto. It seems that a lot of effort has been put into making this uniform too, as it was made by Yonsei University who researched into making a fabric that would allow for easy and comfortable movements such as throwing punches and blocks, whilst also being firm and durable too (this is made from a blend of polyester and cotton).

What’s more, it’s also WTF / KTA recognized so once again, this is another plus if you’re a competitor. Compared to other Mooto Dobok’s, this is one of the cheapest on the market.

Century Taekwondo Uniform

What’s nice about the Century Dobok’s is that they’re available in three different colors; white, black, and pink. So, if you want to wear something a bit different or flamboyant, then this may best suit you. Priced competitively as well, this is something that would make a good starter Dobok as it also comes with a free white belt.

The pants are also made with an elastic waist which is also a bonus as many TKD practitioners will go on to lose weight whilst training so you won’t have to go out and buy new pants either if you do gain or lose a large amount of weight.

Nike Taekwondo Dobok

Whilst Nike doesn’t make too many TKD products, it has made a couple of Dobok’s over the years. In this case, it has a reasonably priced one which is unusual as Nike usually costs a lot of money. So, here you can get a good quality product with the reputation of Nike, whilst not paying over the odds either.

Made from 100% polyester, this also has an elastic waist, sports the WTF logo and the pants in particular are especially comfortable. Put another way, if you sweat when you exercise then this Dobok may be ideal as it keeps its comfort whilst training.

Mooto MTX blue uniform

If you’re looking for something a little different, then the Mooto MTX may be a good choice. This Dobok is colored in navy blue so if you want to stand out at the gym then this is ideal. It should be known that before you buy this, make sure your teacher allows wearing this beforehand, as some people can be picky when it comes to tradition.

As seen, the color scheme on this Dobok is simply beautiful and it’s also priced well too. There is one slight catch. This Taekwondo Dobok is hand-wash only, so it may be best used for special occasions rather than regular use.

Toptie Taekwondo Suit

This Dobok is the cheapest on the market and is ideal if you’re on a budget. In fact, it’s literally four times cheaper than a number of pricey Dobok’s out there which says it all. This is available with the thick, black collar as well as just a plain, white collar too which gives you options.

However, the biggest surprise about this Dobok is that it’s also very good quality. You may expect it to suffer in the quality department due to its price, but somehow, Toptie has made a well priced Dobok that is also very cheap. Ideal for a second Dobok, or as a beginner Dobok – this is a good choice for all.

UFG Ultimate Taekwondo Dobok

Another cheaper option is the UFG Dobok. Available in all-white or black, this is a basic, no-nonsense TKD outfit that is good enough. It’s also machine washable too which is useful if you’re after something that is quick and easy to use.

Elsewhere, the pants are intentionally quite wide which is supposedly for flexibility and ease of use whilst practicing those high kicks. For those after a minimalist look, this is something to consider.

Adidas Taekwondo Fighter III Dobok

Moving to the other side of the spectrum, the Adidas Taekwondo Fighter III Dobok is the most expensive item on this list. Whilst it may set you back more compared to others listed, it’s also a great addition if you’ve got the disposable income. This also uses Climacool technology which Adidas famously made years back and use it in their sports sneakers – allowing your skin to breathe easier which is great if you’re doing some heavy sparring.

Made from 100% polyester, it also has the iconic Adidas three-stripes running down the sides which make it one of the best-looking Dobok’s out there.

KSD Dobok

Aimed towards TKD competitors, the KSD Dobok is made with hard training in mind. As a result, one of its main priorities is durability and it ticks the boxes where this is concerned. If you look closer at the top-part of the Dobok, then you’ll realize that it almost looks like a Judo gi. This means it can handle a lot of use and won’t just break easily.

At the same time, this doesn’t affect its performance either. You can still move about freely and the extra protection won’t hurt or irritate your skin whilst sparring either.

MOOTO MTX S2 Dobok

Another Mooto Dobok to consider is the MTX S2 which also has a unique red-trim that accompanies the black collar. It also has a subtle color scheme that runs throughout whilst keeping the typical quality that is in line with the Mooto brand.
