Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Champion Giovanna Eburneo joins WWE

Every year, the WWE signs new prospects to become future stars. In an interesting twist, they recently announced the signing of Giovanna Eburneo – who is a Brazilian martial artist. Here, she trains BJJ and is a black belt in the art, as well as an IBJJF European Champion. In other words, she has trained for years and is highly skilled. With this said, Eburneo has wrestled already – but not as a professional wrestler of course.

Even though she has signed to the WWE, it doesn’t mean she’ll be a regular just yet. Usually, prospects will sign a deal with a view to a permanent one, depending on how they perform in training. As Eburneo is already a highly decorated grappler who has the look – it seems that she already has a big advantage over her competition. So, it may not be long until we see our first BJJ black belt in the WWE.
