Everything You Need To Know About Master Ken

Master Ken is a comedic personality who rose to fame by mocking fake martial artists in his parody and satire style videos, as well as live shows. In his video series “Enter the dojo show” and more recently “Master Kens Privates”, he details various ways to defeat comedic attackers, which usually involves stomping on the opponent’s groin. Ken refers to himself as an 11th Degree Blackbelt of his own martial art, Ameri-Do-Te. This martial art doesn’t really have any kind of basis or content, but involves a lot of weird moves Master Ken refers to as “secret street fighting techniques”.

Strangely enough, Master Ken is still misunderstood by a small handful of people and has received death threats and challenges to real physical fights who believe he is a real person.

As of today, Master Kens youtube channel has over 800k subscribers and his videos have been viewed more than 100 million times.

Is Master Ken A Real Martial Artist?

As you would expect, to mock something so well, you must at least know some details about how it works. It’s no surprise then that Master Ken has studied various martial arts throughout his comedy and non-comedy career. Master Ken has a real blackbelt under the late Shihan Rich Pelletier in Kenpo karate, which he was awarded in 1996. Based on this alone, there is no doubt that he is a legitimate martial artist. Not only this, but Master Ken has trained many other martial arts throughout his years, including Brazilian jiu-jitsu, hapkido, aikido, and stick fighting.

What Rank Is Master Ken?

Is Ameri-Do-Te A Real Martial Art?

No. In the comedic world of Master Ken, Ameri-Do-Te is very real. However, in reality, Ameri-Do-Te does not exist and you will not be able to find a single gym in the world training this style of martial art.

In addition to this, Master Ken got many of his ideas from real life martial arts instructors, which were likely McDojos. His inspiration for his popular groin attack videos come from a dojo he once trained at. He claims that this gym only trained groin attacks as this is what they thought was most important, not only this but he was forced to “groin spar”. A process in which whoever grabbed the opponent’s groin first won the round.
