Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis set to fight on Jake Paul’s MVP boxing promotion
As Jake Paul continues to get his claws into the boxing world, he recently asked Twitter whether there were any takers for a potential fight against Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis on his upcoming August 13th fight card.
This would be the first event by Paul’s newly formed promotion that also involves boxing mogul Eddie Hearn. It is understood that ex-NBA star Glen Davis is looking for a potential opponent after talks with Larry Sanders have cooled. Davis is currently 36 years old and unsigned after previously retiring from basketball back in 2019.
It has also been speculated that Jake Paul would also be fighting on his own card (Most Valuable Promotions) but with August 13th not too long away, this date seems too soon to gain enough traction for a big money fight. Speculated names include Conor McGregor and KSI who would both generate Paul even more millions due to the hype around his name.
As for now, it seems that his MVP cards will mostly feature ex-sportsmen and celebrities who are willing to put on the boxing gloves. In recent times, there seems to be a real market and audience for these kinds of crossover bouts. This makes sense considering that Paul has earned a small fortune featuring in these events himself, as well as using his self-promotional business skills to market himself as a boxer.
On a similar note, if Paul could somehow orchestrate a fight against someone like McGregor on his own card, it would surely be the biggest payday of his career. Not bad for a kid from Ohio.
