Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion Leandro Lo shot dead
Today saw some awful news from the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu world. World Champion Leandro Lo was shot dead in his native Brazil during an altercation at a nightclub. According to this website, Lo managed to immobilize someone that had caused trouble inside the club, who later came back and shot him in the head. Some reports have stated that the shooter was an off-duty policeman, however this has yet to be confirmed.
At the time of his death, Lo was just 32 years old was arguably in his prime. An active competitor, Lo had won Worlds, Pan-Ams, Copa Podio, and other prestigious titles during his career. He was also known for his explosive power, takedowns, and legendary torreando pass.
