PLO Lumumba is an anti-corruption advocate from Kenya, he is also a third dan black belt in Shokotan Karate and is known for having a calm, intelligent take on politics as well as life in general. He recently featured on NTV Kenya and spoke about his love of martial arts, amongst other things.

PLO Lumumba said “I’ve been a practitioner of martial arts since 1975 and me and a friend of mine are creating our own art called the ‘Ubuntu’. It’s going to be an art, we’re now writing the philosophy. It’s going to be an art that borrows from Kung Fu, Kenpo, Jiu Jitsu…borrows from different arts. The will to do good, that is going to be our art.”

He continued, “If you look at some of the leading martial artists, they’re great philosophers. Bruce Lee was a good martial artist…Jet Li, these are leading martial artists. I train to give my self inner peace and discipline.”
