Dave Leduc takes a dig at Muay Thai with Lethwei T-shirt

Never one to hide behind his words, this week Dave Leduc wore a controversial t-shirt, reading “If Lethwei was easy, it would be called Muay Thai.” For those wondering, Leduc has long insisted that Lethwei is a superior martial art compared to Muay Thai and has called out some of Muay Thai’s top fighters.

His t-shirt also pays homage to ex-UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Back in his earlier career, Khabib wore a similar t-shirt that read, “If Sambo was easy, it would be called Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.” This was Khabib’s original opinion on Sambo being better than BJJ which is a debate for another time.

Over the years, Leduc hasn’t been one to shy away from controversy and is the self-proclaimed king of Lethwei. Speaking on his Instagram account, Leduc even added “His boy Pakorn PK Saenchai got KO’ed in Lethwei by Soe Lin Oo by headbutt.”

This statement from Leduc only brings more hope for combat sports that at some point his path will cross against some of Muay Thai’s top fighters to see who really is victorious in the ring.
