Bruce Lee shows off body transformation over the years
Bruce Lee is best known for three things. The first is his martial arts prowess. The second is his acting career, and the third is his incredible body. Even though time has long marched on, it’s still fair to say that his body still meets universal standards for male perfection. With low body fat, ripped abs and big muscles, it’s no wonder that he became such a top movie star.
However, it wasn’t always like this. As seen below – in Bruce Lee’s earlier days his body wasn’t as perfect. Still, he was in good shape but it wasn’t as toned or defined. Most noticeably, we can see his chest and arms are bigger and are more vascular.
As seen, the main difference is his abs. Here, he has the classic ‘washboard abs’ look which took years of hard work. It should be noted that lighting may have had a factor in his look as the first photo still shows him in good shape but he’s also lacking the star factor.
Bruce Lee was known for running five miles each morning to keep his body fat down. He also complimented this with weights three times a week which included mostly isometric workouts, such as his iconic dragon flags. Obviously, years of training Wing Chun and Jeet Kunde Do would have added to his physicality. Undoubtedly, his diet was also incredibly strict too.
What’s more impressive is that this took place during the 1960s when nutrition wasn’t as scientific as it was today, nor was information on weight lifting and bodybuilding as freely available. Still, it’s important to point out that Bruce Lee was not the norm and your average person probably won’t have the time or dedication to mimic his physique. Regardless, it still shows you what you can do with your body over the years with enough focus and dedication.
