Daria Bilodid shows solidarity with Ukraine

It’s no secret that Daria Bilodid is Ukraine’s greatest ever Judoka, and perhaps one of the country’s most famous sportspersons ever too. However, aside from her magical Judo skills, there’s also a more human issue that is close to her heart. That is, the Russian war in Ukraine. Since it began, Bilodid has shown solidarity for her homeland and has been very vocal about her support of the country.

This began with a simple message saying ‘I am UKRAINIAN 💙💛 and I proud of it!’ which was accompanied by a drawing of herself whilst brandishing the national flag. Since then, she has posted numerous pro-Ukraine sentiments over the past weeks whilst still finding the time to compete. Just recently, the Judo Champion was in Brazil training for a competition whilst previously stating that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was ‘Our hero.’
